Beta 0.3.0 (2003-07-08):
Here you can download my stupid little tool which I created to automatically convert cars from F12002 to F1 Challenge 99-02. The tool is still in beta phase but you can already start converting cars. I have tested it with the official GTR 2002 cars and it seems to work with all of them. A lot of bugs have been fixed and there is now some more error checking code, the tool also works with the Modena 360 Challenge cars now. I have to admit that there are some differences between the physics engines of F1 2002 and F1C. Tire heating, engine heating, tire wear and tire pressure are calculated in different ways now and you may notice some strange behaviour of those parameters (which of course also means that the cars will not feel as they do in F12002). I'm still trying to find out how the physics files have to be converted to get the behaviour of the cars as close as possible to F1 2002, especially the conversion of the tires is very difficult and yet I do not understand every aspect of the new physics engine.
However I made some huge improvements with the physics conversion and I would like to hear what you think about it.

I also suggest that you place this default.svm setup file in your settings folder, which loads the default setup for the car (the F1 setups may cause some trouble but you can also copy your old .svm files from F1 2002):

FAQ:

What to do if you get an error that ptrue2.dll could not be registered successfully?
Please try this first - open a command prompt, change the active directory to «C:\windows\system32» (or wherever your windows\system32 directory is) and type «regsvr32 ptrue2.dll». If you get a messagebox telling you that ptrue2.dll could be registered successfully then the tool should work now.
If the mothod did not help please download the following file and install it: http://www.phototrue.net/download/ptrue2.zip

What to do if you get an error about mscomctl.ocx?
